Natick is among just six communities to be awarded a coveted Racial Equity Municipal Action Plan (REMAP) grant from the Metropolitan Area Planning Council and its partners.
Natick announced last month that it was partnering with neighboring communities, including Framingham, to support each others’ applications, and as it turns out, both Natick and Framingham are among the six grantees. Natick put an emphasis on housing equity in its application.
Bedford, Lynn, Revere, and Stoughton round out the list of other grantees. There were 22 applicants in all.
For Natick, this plan should sync up well with its parallel effort to form an Equity Task Force that will explore ways the town should approach the issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion, and likely lead to the formation of a town committee dedicated to this topic.
