The Natick Police responded to 911 calls on Wednesday shortly before 12:30pm, “for what was reported as an armed robbery to one of the commercial businesses in the area.” The police oddly didn’t name Aldi as the target in their Facebook post, referring to it merely as a commercial business in the Rte. 30/Speen Street area.

But news outlets, including MetroWest Daily News, reported that the robbery took place at the Natick Aldi store, which opened last month in the Cloverleaf Mall.
Officers and Detectives from the Natick PD, with assistance from Framingham PD, The Massachusetts State Police and Weston PD K-9 used camera footage and good old-fashioned police work, and had the suspect tracked down and placed under arrest shortly after the robbery.
The investigation is ongoing.
A quick google and social media search shows that Aldis around the world have been popular robbery targets, with stories popping up about incidents from the U.K. to Australia to New York.
