Unfortunately, there’s no need to stake out a spot with your folding chair in Natick Center this weekend: As we reported over the winter, there will be no 4th of July parade for the third straight year in Natick.
Natick Friends of the 4th announced at the time: “After an almost complete dissolution of the previous board of directors in 2018, a small group of less than 10 brand-new volunteers stepped up and pulled off a wonderful 4th of July parade in 2019. Unfortunately, we were not able to hold the parade in 2020 or 2021 due to the global COVID-19 pandemic and associated financial changes for sponsors. Our group has now decreased to six volunteers and no longer has the bandwidth or resources to plan, fundraise for, or produce a parade.”
If you’d like to help the all-volunteer group mount an Independence parade comeback in 2023, please email the group: email@example.com
