SPARK Kindness founder recognized for suicide prevention leadership
Christine Fortune Guthery, founder and executive director of Natick’s SPARK Kindness organization, has received the
Leadership in Suicide Prevention Award from the Massachusetts Coalition for Suicide Prevention.
The award, recognizing extraordinary efforts to promote mental health awareness and suicide prevention, was presented at the State House.
“There is no greater challenge to address than suicide prevention for our youth and our whole community,” Guthery said in a statement.
Guthery, an attorney, founded SPARK Kindness in 2010. The nonprofit now serves nearly 9,000 members in MetroWest Boston and beyond through free programming, resources, and events that promote resilience, kindness, and belonging for all.

Natick Mall confirms you’re beautiful
The Natick Mall has a new feel-good, interactive art installation set up through April 9.
The “You are Beautiful” exhibit, inspired by artist Matthew Hoffman, invites you to grab a tag and fill in the blank “I am ____,” then hang it on the wall with tens of thousands of others.
The Moments of Motivation Seats and Self-Reflection Mirror are also part of the site.
Crossing the aisle to help Natick Service Council
The Natick Democratic and Republican Town Committees are joining forces on a food drive to support the Natick Service Council.
Mark your calendar: The event takes place at the Stop & Shop 9/27 Plaza in Natick on Saturday, April 29, 9am-2pm.
Among items requested are cereal, coffee & tea, pasta sauce, sugar, flour, solid white canned tuna, and canned soup.
