Natick student a Leadership in Diversity Award recipient
The Alliance for MetroWest Unity has announced 11 John P. Garrahan Leadership in Diversity Awards to be pressented on April 28 at The Verve in Natick from 7:30-9 am.
The Alliance presents the Leadership in Diversity Awards annually to students from public and private high schools in MetroWest whose work in leading others in awareness and appreciation of diversity distinguishes them at their schools. Natick High School’s Talia Bradley is among this year’s recipients.
NPS administration update
The future of Natick Public Schools’ leadership remains up in the air with the pending departure of Supt. Dr. Anna Nolin for the top schools job in Newton, and the deadline for applications having now passed for interim superintendent candidates at NPS. The School Committee seeks to select an interim superintendent by mid-May. The Interim Superintendent Task Force meets on April 27, mainly in executive session.
Meanwhile, Natick Public Schools Assistant Superintendent of Student Services Timothy Luff has been looking elsewhere. Luff was a finalist for the interim superintendent job at Wayland Public Schools, but the Wayland School Committee wound up choosing David Fleishman, former Newton Public School superintendent. Fleishman last year resigned from the job that Nolin will now take over…
Memorial Elementary celebrates Book Fair
The Memorial Elementary School PTO is celebrating sales of about $21K from the recent Scholastic Book Fair earlier thanks to the many volunteers who helped organize and run it, and the families who purchased books, including some donated to classrooms.
