Natick Business Buzz: Mass Diving waves goodbye; Natick Days booth application deadline approaches; Stay Fashion leaves

June 22, 2023 by Deborah Brown Leave a Comment

The latest Natick, Mass. business news:

Mass Diving floats away

After 35 years, Mass Diving is selling off the last of its remaining retail products online and is down to seeking buyers for its assorted fixtures (display cases, a floor safe, shelves, hangers, etc.) as it prepares the retail space for the landlord’s final walk-through. The 247 West Central St. business has been gradually making moves to close since earlier this year. It will be difficult to fill the void Mass Diving will leave in the world of deep-sea enthusiasts. Owner Mark Potter and his knowledgable staff conducted scuba training and lessons, first aid and CPR training, sold or rented any gear a diver could need, and led group travel trips all over the world.

Natick Days applications

Businesses (as well as non-profit organizations) have until July 1 to get in their applications to set up a table at Natick Days, a yearly tradition that celebrates the town as a great place to live, work and play. The Sept. 9 event will be held at Natick Common and the surrounding area. Here’s NHS 2023 graduate Ella Stern’s Natick Report story on last year’s event.

2021 natick days crowd

Businesses can support Natick Days on three levels—as an Underwriter ($1000); a Sponsor ($500); or a Donor ($250). Only Underwriters get to set up a booth and enjoy all sorts of other perks. Sponsors can show off signage at one of the event’s activities such as mini-golf, and get other shout-outs; and donors’s names will be included in event publicity.

Non-profits and youth groups can set up a booth at no charge, but just filling out the application is no guarantee of a spot. Any group applying after the deadline or any new group will be placed on a waiting list and will need approval from the Natick Days Committee.

Stay Fashion has left

Stay Fashion Boutique, located in the Mill Street Plaza, has closed its doors after just under a year of carrying Brazilian-inspired clothing and accessories for women and girls. Store owner Regiane de Araujo had bought the business last year and moved it from its original downtown Framingham location as part of a career change to pursue her love of fashion and talking to people.
