The latest Natick, Mass., business news:
Clark’s Block Building in Natick Center sold for $6M
The Clark’s Block Building on Main Street in Natick Center has been sold for $6M by Kensington Investment Co. to an entity called Clark’s Block LLC managed out of Cambridge, per a filing at the Middlesex South Registry of Deeds.
The 43,000-square-foot, three-story, mixed-use office and retail building, officially located at 2 Summer St., dates back to the 1870s and currently hosts the likes of Orangetheory, Stucchi Jewelers, and Natick Pegasus. The building also includes an old ballroom, dubbed the Concert Hall, that some in town have been pushing to save.

ReLeaf arrival could be near
ReLeaf, a recreational cannabis business that’s been working to open in Natick ever since the Select Board gave its blessing in 2021, may finally be on the verge of opening on Rte. 9 west at a former Papa Gino’s site.
ReLeaf has had to sort out issues from construction to parking to traffic flow. We’ve reached out in the past to get updates, but have not heard back.
What we do know is that firm is on the Natick Select Board agenda on June 26 this week for approval of its license to operate (see application embedded below).
The town stands to gain financially from ReLeaf’s opening if the business can generate decent revenue, not a foregone conclusion given the well documented challenges of being in this industry. Natick would score monies under a community impact fee, local excise tax, and property taxes.
ReLeaf already runs a facility in Mansfield.
Natick’s first recreational cannabis dispensary licensee, Redi, has gotten a good head start on ReLeaf, opening its facility at the start of 2023 at Cloverleaf Mall.
Cannabis stores can be found up and down Rte. 9, or near it, from Brookline on into Framingham and beyond.
