Natick 101 sessions to explain what the heck is going on in town government

August 28, 2024 by Admin

Natick in September will launch a series of in-person and online sessions aimed at helping the public better understand how town government runs. Goals include encouraging the public to become more engaged with town goings-on.

The Natick 101 series succeeds the town’s former Citizen’s Leadership Academy, a more limited program that ran from 2015-2020.

The new series kicks off on Sept. 19 with a session on town administration led by Town Administrator Jamie Errickson. Sessions will give high-level overviews of departments or organizations, plus dive deeper into budgets, challenges, and more.

Registration is not required, though is helpful for in-person space planning. Those interested in participating can fill out an online form to share pre-meeting input that can help to shape programming.

Other topics slated for this year include the Finance Department, Community & Economic Development Department, and Communications and Equity, Inclusion & Outreach.

Recordings and materials will be made available on the town website whether or not you can make the sessions in realtime.
