Natick Praying Indians pow wow features guest appearance by bald eagle & more

September 29, 2025 by Maureen L. Sullivan

On Sept. 27, the Natick Praying Indians sponsored their annual Harvest Moon and Creator Celebration, a pow wow at Lake Cochituate State Park.

A special guest made an appearance just before the Grand Entry at noontime. A bald eagle circled the site a few times, drawing the attention of many visitors, before heading north.

In addition to special ceremonies and the drum circle, the pow wow featured several vendors selling Native American crafts, as well as storytelling.

The Natick Praying Indians conduct prayer services every second Saturday at noon at the Eliot Church in South Natick.
