The same commercial and big residential development property owners from last year’s list of Natick’s top 10 taxpayers remain as the top 10, with Natick Mall operator Brookfield still #1.
The only change is that #9, Cloverleaf Apartments, dropped to #10, and the previous #10, Modera, moved up a slot. Apartment rent growth has fueled the rise of outfits that own these multifamily housing properties.
According to Director of Assessing Eric Henderson, the top 10 organizations on the list pay a little over 10% of the town’s tax levy.
More than 82% of Natick’s overall property and personal tax base comes from residential property owners.
The top 10 list was presented during the town’s annual tax classification hearing at the Select Board meeting this week (more on that to come…).

Is it correct to interpret this as Natick Mall brought in $4.6 million in revenue for the Natick community via taxes?
That’s the way we read it
The town collects so much tax revenue yet constantly goes hat in hand to residents for more. With soaring tax bills fueled by rises in property taxes and a thriving commercial sector, the town should be able to build a rainy day fund AND lower tax rates.
