Natick Recreation Summer 2024 registration is open—some takeaways

The Natick Recreation and Parks summer 2024 brochure is ready, and registration for its many programs have started.

Natick Recreation and Parks is on a mission to give quality rec programming to all Natick residents. Fun and affordable programs include sports and movement classes for all ages; summer camps; Teen Center; adaptive and inclusive programs for individuals with special needs; and so much more.

Here are details on just a few of the many Rec-sponsored programs.

Memorial Beach at Dug Pond

Memorial Beach season passes can be purchased online beginning April 3, noon. Rates range from a $5 day pass for Natick seniors to a $160 family/household pass (for Natick residents only). There are lots of other options, including rates for for non-residents.

Dates: TBA. The season usually runs mid-June through mid-August.

Memorial Beach is located on the shores of Dug Pond (West Street—next to Natick High School) and is maintained and operated by the Town of Natick. The beachfront features changing rooms, a snack stand, and a floating dock. Memorial Beach offers a variety of swim lessons, special events and programs. The Swim Team also participates in the Summer Suburban Swim League.

Employment opportunities

Rec is hiring for summer positions such as counselors, lifeguards, counselors, and more. (See page 6 of the Summer Programs brochure.) Call 508-647-6530 for more information.

Camp Arrowhead also needs volunteers to be 1:1 aides to provide companionship and assistance as needed to the Camp Arrowhead campers. (See page 23 of the Summer Programs brochure.) Applicants must at least be entering 9th grade to volunteer.
Camp Arrowhead location: 1055 Worcester Street, Natick

Lions Camp Pride needs volunteers to be 1:1 aides to provide assistance as needed for campers who attend sleep away camp in New Hampshire. (See page 24 of the Summer Programs brochure.) Volunteers get bused to the location from Natick. Volunteers sleep in bunk beds in a cabin with campers and staff.

Help wanted: Wellesley Neighbors seeks part-time Program Manager

Program Manager responsibilities include

· Overseeing membership services
· Maintaining all computer systems used by Wellesley Neighbors
· Providing administrative support and direction for Wellesley Neighbor programs

Requirements

· Previous administrative experience
· Facility with computers, Microsoft Office, and the internet
· Strong written, oral, marketing, and interpersonal skills
· Prior experience working with an older population preferred.

Salary is $25 per hour and the position is part-time (20 hours per week). This is primarily a work-from-home job, but occasional in-person attendance at Wellesley Neighbors events in the Wellesley area will be necessary.
