The A Cappella Singers’ Winter Concert

The A Cappella Singers, which perform a mix of classical and contemporary choral work, will hold their Winter Concerts  on Saturday, Dec. 6 at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 3 Maple St. in Framingham and Sunday, Dec. 7 at First Congregational Church of Natick, 2 East Central St. Both concerts begin at 3:00PM and tickets will be sold online and at the door.

The concerts will feature the  premiere of commissioned work, “Upright”, composed by Brad Hart. This work was funded through a Natick Cultural Council grant.

In “Upright,” the composer captures emotions experienced watching his wife, Christie, stand up and walk after surgery—the first time he had seen her do so. Christie has Scheuermann’s disease, which caused her spine to curve forward.

The A Cappella Singers train and perform under the direction of Brett Abigaña. They rehearse at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Framingham on Monday evenings and, until the middle of October, welcome new sopranos and altos to audition for the chorus.
