SUMMARY:Fay School's Ideas & Insights Speaker Series\, "Helping Kids Thrive in an Age of AI"
DESCRIPTION:EVENT: Fay School’s Ideas&Insights Speaker Series Presents Helping Kids Thrive in an Age of AI with Dr. Rebecca Winthrop \nDATE/TIME: Wednesday\, April 29\, 7:00-8:30 PM \nLOCATION: Fay School’s Primary Dining Commons inside the Primary School Building \nPARKING: Please park in Harlow Circle\, which can be accessed via Fay School’s East Entrance. Click here for directions to the East Entrance\, located at 23 Middle Road in Southborough\, MA. \nREGISTER: https://www.fayschool.org/ideasandinsights \nGenerative AI is rapidly reshaping how young people learn\, connect\, and understand themselves. From AI tutors and creative tools to always-on digital companions\, these technologies promise new opportunities\, but also raise urgent questions about children’s cognitive\, social\, and emotional development. Rather than focusing on whether children should use AI\, how do we ensure AI strengthens—rather than undermines—young people’s capacity to think\, relate\, and thrive? \nTo address this\, Rebecca will share evidence-based recommendations for fostering meaningful\, human-centered learning in the age of AI\, providing attendees with practical strategies to keep their children on the path to motivation\, well-being\, and academic flourishing.
