SUMMARY:Blessing of the Animals at St. Paul's
DESCRIPTION:Each year at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church we celebrate the Feast of St. Francis (October 4) with a special celebration of the beloved pets in our lives on the Sunday closest to the feast! \nSt. Francis is known for his connection to animals and the environment and our worship inspired by this Feast makes room to celebrate this! \nYou are welcome to bring any (well-behaved & proper-church-going) animals with you to join you for the entire 8 or 10 a.m. worship services on Sunday\, October 5th and we we will bless them during the service. \nIf you have highly allergenic pets or pets who might not be as comfortable inside with groups of people during the service\, we will also offer a blessing in the church yard following the 10 am church service (starting around 11:20 a.m. and continuing through coffee hour) – so if you want to come to church and then go home to get your beloved pet to bring back for a blessing\, you will have time! \nWe also encourage you to bring photographs of your pets who need to remain at home or any beloved deceased pets for a special prayer. Plush “stuffies” and other beloved toy pets are also welcome for a blessing!
