Natick’s Water Division crews responded Monday night to a break in a 10″ diameter water main on Union Street, and police have the road blocked off near Rte. 16. Good thing there’s not an emergency room on that street anymore.
But the water main break did mean a temporary water service shutdown from Morse Lane to South Natick center while the main was being repaired. Water was seen streaming down the hill to the intersection at Rte. 16.
Fortunately the temperature wasn’t supposed to get too much below high 30s overnight or we might have been looking at a super slippery hill.
South Natick hasn’t been able to catch a break lately. A couple of weeks back a driver smashed into a utility pole on Rte. 16 (Eliot Street) and knocked out power in the same area for the night.
(Hat tip to Judy C. for the heads up.)
