When it comes to the South Natick dam project, “liability” is the watchword.
The town decided to remove the decades-old spillway (aka, falls) to protect the municipality from liability in case the high hazard earthen dam at the site ever collapsed.
Now a fresh warning: New signage about flying debris cautions those who might want to catch the action not to catch any shrapnel from the concrete spillway demolition.
This park next to Bacon Free Library has been open to the public until now, while Grove Park on the other side has been closed as a staging site for the project team.

So is it an earthen about to wash away hazard or a rock solid concrete dam, that would be around for an another 500 years with zero issues? Whole idea that demolition is , it’s plain sad.
